Accident Advice

Don’t panic. Make sure your car is in park. Make sure your four-way flashers are on.

Make sure you are in a clear and safe area and call the police. Stop and identify yourself to the other driver (some state or local statutes may require the vehicle be left as is.) If it can’t be moved, turn on the hazard lights.

If you start to hurt or feel dizzy with in a few days you may want to go to the hospital, adrenalin can cause you to not feel your symptoms right away.

Exchange information with the other driver(s) get the name, address, phone number, license number and insurance company of the driver(s) who were in the accident with you.

Get names and badge numbers of any police officers who arrive at the scene. If there are injuries or extensive damage, then the police should file a report. Ask to get a copy.
